About Dennis...

Father Dennis Rocheford was a highly respected priest who served with great devotion, both in the military and in several area parishes. His military career included: three years as a Marine who received 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star in the late 1960s. Part of this service was 13 months in Vietnam; then as a chaplain with the II Marines Expeditionary Force, and as Catholic Pastor for the Chapel of Hope at the Newport, RI Navy Base. Rev. Rocheford was ordained a priest in 1977. His assignments include: St. Camillus Parish in Fitchburg, Sacred Heart in Hopedale in 1981 and St. Joan of Arc in Worcester, St. John the Evangelist in Clinton, St. Theresa's in Blackstone, and finally, St. Ann's Parish in North Oxford. Father Rocheford was the son of the late Clarence L. and Helen L. (Blair) Rocheford. At the time of his death, he left 6 brothers and sisters, Paul B. Rocheford of Ft. Myers, FL, Mark C. Rocheford of Pompano Beach, FL, Joan K. Katinas of Rutland, MA, Neal C. Rocheford and his wife Lucille of Cherry Valley, MA, Diane M. Franklin and her husband Dennis of Chenoa, IL, Kathleen F. Leone of Worcester.His death was under tragic circumstances -an apparent suicide. The family suggests donations in memory of Fr. Dennis be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
